Connectivity

Underground Gigabit Connection: Linking The LAC with Sullivan Square

Lumberyard Arts Center

Source audio from performances, readings, and exhibitions transmitted through hardwired gigabit+ connection.

Underground Infrastructure

Reliable, weatherproof gigabit+ connection ensures crystal-clear audio transmission between venues with zero interference.

Sullivan Square Rack

Receives and processes audio for downtown speaker array and stage PA system distribution.

This robust connection enables audio to flow from the Lumberyard Arts Center to Sullivan Square's downtown speaker array and stage PA system. The bidirectional capability means live stage performances at Sullivan Square can also be simulcast throughout the Arts Center—once a comprehensive speaker system is installed. This infrastructure creates endless possibilities for community engagement and cultural programming across venues.

Acoustics

Solving the Main Floor Audio Challenge

The Problem

The Arts Center's expansive main floor presents a classic acoustic challenge. Traditional floor-mounted PA systems create an impossible dilemma: front-row patrons suffer from excessive volume while those in the middle and rear struggle to hear clearly. Sound reflections and reverberations further reduce speech intelligibility, making performances difficult to enjoy throughout the space.

The Solution

Strategic overhead speaker placement eliminates this problem permanently. By mounting two to three speakers at measured intervals from front to back, we achieve even sound distribution across the entire venue. Every seat becomes premium, whether front row or back.

Gallery Space: Art Meets Sound

Customized Audio Experiences

The gallery space transforms with ceiling-mounted speakers that become part of the artistic expression. Featured artists can curate their own soundscapes, making audio an integral component of their exhibitions. During artist receptions, wireless microphone systems enable clear communication with attendees throughout the gallery.

This flexible approach allows each exhibition to create its own atmosphere while maintaining professional audio quality. The wireless mic options—handheld or wearable lavalier—give artists freedom of movement while engaging with patrons.
